FORESTS

In the UK deforestation began in the bronze age and by the 18th Century only 4% of the UK was covered by forest. Today most of the forests we experience are a relatively new, since forest planting began in the 1940s. My work uses alternative photographic processes, embroidery, photography and sound to capture the differences and relationships that occur in todays forests, that exist mainly to harvest wood and old remnant forest that have existed for more than 500 years.
